Lace is intricate, delicate, classic, and feminine, and, like velvet, it can easily be overdone. Flowy, lace tops and mini-dresses put a modern twist on this elegant classic.

Choose a lace mini-dress that you can comfortably move, sit, and stand in without exposing undergarments. If you are not ready to go for a dress that is entirely lace, look for a silk or cotton dress with lace, or even crochet, detailing. Lace dresses work beautifully with over the knee boots.

Lace tops are often see through. To avoid the obvious faux pas, choose a neutral-colored cami, or a cami that is the same, or similar, color of the lace top.
